On May 30, 2012, Childhood Lead Action Project friends and allies packed a RI State House hearing room in support of resolution H-8148: Respectfully Requesting President Barack Obama to Restore Funding for the CDC's Healthy Homes and Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. Following this show of support, the Rhode Island House of Representatives passed the resolution in early June.

Please watch this short video of highlights from the hearing. It includes testimony from parents, educators, housing experts, health officials, and other community members who are deeply concerned about about what will happen if the RI Department of Health's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is forced to shut down due to severe budget cuts.
