Training for Social Service Providers

Social service providers who serve families with young children have a critical opportunity to help prevent or mitigate permanent harm from lead poisoning. With basic training on lead poisoning prevention, case managers can easily gain the skills necessary to help families identify lead hazards, access lead poisoning prevention resources, and assert their legal right to lead-safe housing.

Because help from a social worker could mean all the difference for a child at risk for lead poisoning, we offer in-service trainings to on a wide range of topics to organizations and agencies statewide. When possible, we tailor our presentations to specific locations and staff. Training topics include:

• Lead Poisoning 101 (identifying, treating and preventing lead poisoning)
• How to Access Resources to Help Lead Poisoned Children and their Families
• Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants
